Gertrude Wayua Mulinge is an associate in the Real Estate and Finance Department. Her main areas of practice include general corporate and commercial transactions and conveyancing and securitization transactions.
Gertrude’s keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and thorough approach to legal work place her in a strong position to safeguard clients’ interests. She consistently ensures that transactions are conducted in compliance with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, and best practice standards.
Gertrude provides comprehensive legal support in real estate matters, including guiding clients on regulatory compliance for property transfers and handling the negotiation and preparation of leases, sale agreements, and tenancy arrangements. She routinely undertakes detailed due diligence on proposed transactions and offers practical, client-focused legal advice suited to specific commercial objectives.
Within the finance sector, she has developed strong experience in preparing, reviewing, and perfecting security documentation, and regularly advises lenders on the legal and regulatory requirements for establishing effective and enforceable securities.

Experience:
Gertrude is currently part of the legal team advising the government of Kenya in the acquisition of the Eurobond, 2026. Gertrude has also handled high net worth transactions with values ranging up to 1 Billion. Moreover, she has participated in structured finance transactions, advising regional and international financial institutions on project finance lending. She has also been involved in sovereign lending transactions, providing legal support on complex financing arrangements
