Celestine is an Associate specializing in Real estate, Banking and Finance, Corporate Commercial, Corporate Governance, Employment and Labour relations and Legislative and Policy drafting. Her practice encompasses property acquisitions, due diligence, support in development approvals, creation and perfection of securities, mergers and acquisitions.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa and a Postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law. She is a member of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK).
Expertise
Advising on preparation and perfection of securities such as Charges, Debentures and Guarantees on behalf of Financial Institutions. Drafting, reviewing and support for real estate transactions including Sale Agreements, Long term leases and Leases for various Developers and support in regulatory compliance for Development Approvals.
Engaged in Due diligence, Research and preparing legal and advisory opinions on issues affecting clients like Financial institutions. Engaged in training and capacity building for our Clients on emerging legal issues. Participated in preparing and filing a Merger Notification for an International Company acquiring a subsidiary of another Company in Kenya. Participated in drafting the Business Laws Amendment Act, 2024 with respect to gaps in the Labour Law gaps relating to remote workers under Business Process Outsourcing (BPOs) arrangements.
