Brenda Kirimi is an associate in the firm’s Real Estate and Finance practice group.


Brenda advises clients on various facets in real estate including compliance with regulatory requirements for transfer of interests in properties, negotiating and preparation of leases, sale agreements and tenancy agreements. She is also conversant with due diligence checks on potential transactions and is well versed with legal advisory addressing the special needs of our clients.


In the finance sector, she is experienced in drafting, reviewing and perfection of bank securities and advises lenders on the legal requirements towards the creation of enforceable securities.


Brenda also possesses considerable experience in dispute resolution and has handled matters relating to land disputes, debt recovery, commercial disputes, employment disputes, election petitions and succession.


She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Law (Advocate Training Programme), Kenya School of Law and a Bachelor of Laws (LL. B), Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.


Experience
She was part of the team that advised a financial institution on alternative recovery options for non-performing land securitized accounts upon encountering difficulty in realizing security through the statutory power of sale.


Part of the team acting for two property developers in the documentation processes and effecting transfers with respect to residential properties owned by the developers.


Assisted with the review of the Capital Markets Licensing Requirements General Regulations 2002-Revised August 2017.
